Ajman on Thursday announced decisions to tighten Covid-19 restrictions across the emirate, with immediate effect.

Under the new preventive measures, music concerts and events have been banned.

A cap has also been introduced on the number of attendees at weddings and funerals, with authorities noting that a maximum of 10 family members can attend weddings, while a maximum of 20 mourners will be allowed at funerals.


The previous directive had allowed for up to 50 attendees at weddings in the emirate.

Cinemas, fitness centres, gyms, parks and hotel beaches have also been instructed to reduce operating capacity to 50 per cent.

Other measures previously announced include the closure of all eateries and cafes by midnight, with violators liable to stiff penalties.
