The delay in supply of the Covid-19 vaccines has affected the administering of the second dose of the jab to residents of Saudi Arabia.
In an announcement made by the Saudi Ministry of Health there will be a rescheduling of the second dose of the Pfizer jab at all four vaccine centres in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah.
The ministry further stated that the company producing the Pfizer vaccine has notified that it will resume supply of vaccine in mid-February. The second dose has to be administered within six weeks of the first dose, according to experts.
The Saudi authorities aim to continue carrying out the vaccine campaign with more centres opening up in all regions of the country with more availability of the inoculation, according to a report in Saudi Gazette.
