The UAE's vaccine administration rates are just second behind Israel globally.

The UAE has vaccinated 84,919 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 2.24 million. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 22.71.

On Thursday, the UAE announced the official registration of Russia's Sputnik Covid-19 vaccine in a major step towards combating the global pandemic.
