The UAE has vaccinated 84,919 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 2.24 million. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 22.71.
On Thursday, the UAE announced the official registration of Russia's Sputnik Covid-19 vaccine in a major step towards combating the global pandemic.

This is now the third Covid-19 vaccine available to UAE residents, as the country steps up its fight against the virus.
The UAE also recorded its highest-ever single-day recoveries for the second day in a row.
On January 21, it announced 3,901 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country up to 239,322 — and beating out the previous day's tally of 3,746 recoveries recorded in a single day.
