Covid-19: Vaccination mandatory for workers in salons, F&B outlets in Saudi Arabia

Dubai - The kingdom will implement new rules from mid-May.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Municipality and Rural Affairs and Housing has made it mandatory for all the people working in salons, restaurants, cafes and other F&B outlets to have themselves Covid-19 vaccinated by mid-May 2021.

Those who don’t get the jab by mid-May deadline, they will have to provide a negative PCR test after every seven days. The employers will bear the cost of Covid-19 tests for their employees.

The Kingdom’s Ministry of Sports and Transport General Authority also issued instructions on similar lines to contain the pandemic.

The kingdom’s media reported that the Ministry of Tourism also banned buffet services in restaurants, tents and halls during the Holy month of Ramadan.

The Ministry of Health in the country has expanded its vaccination programme to cover all the regions in the kingdom. So far, over 3.6m Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country.
