A sewing shop and a local tour organisation in Dubai have been fined after their employees were caught without face masks, authorities said on Wednesday.

The two establishments are both located in the emirate's Naif area, the Dubai Economy said as it shared the results of the inspections it carried out on Tuesday.

Inspectors from the authority's Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection sector have been going around the city, visiting open markets and shopping centres, to monitor establishments' compliance with Covid-19 safety rules.

In their latest round of field visits, eight shops were also issued warnings for not having physical distancing stickers. Overall, 765 shops and commercial establishments were found fully compliant with the precautionary measures.
The Dubai Economy called on everyone to report any safety violation through the Dubai Consumer app, on 600545555, or by visiting the consumerrights.ae website.
