Covid-19: Remote working extended for Sharjah government employees

Sharjah Human Resources Department say policy will continue until further notice, except for workers who need to be physically present at workplaces.

Sharjah: Sharjah government workers will continue to work from home, the Sharjah Human Resources Department confirmed on Thursday.

Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Human Resources Department, said the remote work system for all Sharjah government employees will continue until further notice, except for those whose work requires them to be in a workplace.

He said the move continues the Sharjah government's attempts to take all preventative measures needed to curb the spread of the coronavirus, ensuring the security and safety of employees, customers and all members of the community, while maintaining sustainability of businesses.

The remote work system was instigated Sharjah government personnel on March 22 as part of precautionary measures taken by the government to keep the COVID-19 virus at bay.

Bin Khadim praised the tireless efforts of all authorities, bodies, institutions and departments at the government of Sharjah to work together in the face of this global crisis, and ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality and excellence despite such exceptional circumstances.
