Dubai Police have launched an SMS alerts service that enables the force to broadcast awareness messages and safety alerts to BMW and Mercedes owners across the emirate during the coronavirus crisis.
The director of the command and control centre at Dubai Police, Colonel Turki bin Fares, confirmed that the launch of the new service is per the directives of Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, to utilise the latest technology and innovations in ensuring the safety and security of community members.
He also praised the cooperation of BMW and Mercedes and their keenness to adopt the new feature and for their support to the #stayhome campaign.
Colonel bin Fares explained that the service would enable the command and control centre to broadcast awareness alerts in English to drivers' consoles.
