The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Wednesday reported 3,939 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 4,536 recoveries.

The authority also announced that six people had died in the country as a result of the illness, which bring the total number of deaths in UAE to 811.


There are currently 24,545 active Covid-19 cases in UAE and 174, 016 new tests have been carried out in the country.

More than 24.8 million tests have been carried out across the country so far.

On Wednesday, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) issued new quarantine guidelines for Covid-positive government employees or those who were in close contact with infected patients.

According to the advisory, the quarantine period for unvaccinated employees will be deducted from their annual leave or considered as an unpaid one if they don’t have any left.

A national ‘Thank You’ campaign was also launched by the Frontline Heroes Office on Wednesday to mark the country's gratitude to those at the forefront of the battle against Covid-19.

UAE nationals and residents are encouraged to record and share a personal video, telling these heroes how their lives continue to be positively impacted by the actions of those on the frontlines.
