The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Friday reported 3,407 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 3,168 recoveries. Seven deaths were also reported.
As many as new 131,262 Covid-19 tests were carried out, taking the total number of tests carried out in the country to more than 23 million so far.
The total number of cases in UAE as on January 15 stand at 246,376 while total recoveries are 218,988. Death toll rises to 733.
More than 22.9 million tests have been carried out across the country so far.
Government departments in Dubai have ramped up inspections of commercial establishments, as cases of Covid-19 continue to soar in the UAE.
To increase public safety, the Dubai Media Office on Thursday issued an advisory that reiterated precautionary measures for social gatherings and wedding receptions.

It stated that violators would be liable to a fine of Dh50,000 at least for hosting large gatherings at home. Each attendee will also be fined Dh15,000.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education announced that UAE public school students in Grades 9 to 12 will continue with distance learning until further notice.
The decision was made to prevent the spread of the virus, amid the recent spike in new cases since the beginning of the year.
