Coronavirus: UAE reports 3,310 new Covid-19 cases, 3,368 recoveries, 17 deaths

Dubai - Over 27.2 million tests have been conducted across the country to date.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday reported 3,310 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 3,368 recoveries and 17 deaths.

The new cases were detected through 165,796 additional tests.

Over 27.2 million tests have been conducted across the country to date.

The total number of cases in UAE as on February 9 are 332,603 while total recoveries stand at 313,060. Death toll rises to 947.

UAE authorities have been doubling down on violators of Covid-19 restrictions across the country.

On Tuesday, Dubai Police announced it had fined the organiser of a private house party Dh50,000 for violating social distancing and Covid-19 precautionary measures.

A fine of Dh15,000 has also been issued for every participant in the private party.

Meanwhile, Sharjah on Tuesday became the latest emirate to issue fresh Covid-19 directives for commercial establishments.

The new regulations state that shopping centres and malls in Sharjah will have to restrict the number of visitors to a maximum of 60 per cent of their total capacity.

Permitted operating capacities were also slashed to 50 per cent at cinemas, entertainment centres, gyms and fitness centres.
