Coronavirus: UAE reports 3,294 Covid-19 cases, 3,431 recoveries, 18 deaths

Dubai - Over 28.8 million tests have been conducted to date as part of the country's screening programmes to combat the pandemic.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Thursday reported 3,294 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 3,431 recoveries and 18 deaths.

The new cases were detected through 171,667 additional tests.

The total number of cases in UAE as on February 18 are 361,877 while total recoveries stand at 347,366. The death toll rises to 1,073.

The UAE has conducted over 28.8 million tests till date as part of the country's massive screening programmes to combat the spread of Covid-19.

In the most recent development, Dubai residents travelling back to the emirate no longer need an approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), according to Emirates Airline. The new update went into effect from February 12, it confirmed.

Meanwhile, passengers flying from India to Dubai on India’s budget airline Air India Express will now have to follow revised regulations on PCR tests, according to an announcement made by the airline on Wednesday.

A QR code linking to travellers' original test reports is part of the updated guidelines.
