Coronavirus: UAE reports 3,276 Covid-19 cases, 4,041 recoveries, 12 deaths

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Saturday reported 3,276 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 4,041 recoveries and 12 deaths.

The new cases were detected through additional 150,706 tests.

Over 26.5 million tests have been conducted across the country to date.


The total number of cases in UAE as on February 6 are 323,402 while total recoveries stand at 301,081. Death toll rises to 914.

Gulf countries over the weekend re-imposed a slew of restrictions on education, leisure and business activities across the country in a bid to curb the spread of the ongoing pandemic.

It is the latest Gulf state to tighten restrictions in recent days.

Closer to home, Ajman's Department of Economic Development has reduced the timings of cafeterias and cafes operating in the emirate, as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19.

Effective Friday, February 5, the eateries are to shut by 12 midnight, the department said. They will be able to offer home delivery services after this time.

Meanwhile, UAE airlines on Thursday announced travel restrictions to Kuwait.

Emirates airline, Etihad Airways and Flydubai made the announcement after Kuwait said it would suspend entry for non-citizens for two weeks as of February 7, following a rise in coronavirus cases.
