Coronavirus: Dubai responds to 871,000 Covid queries last year

The Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) call centre received over 2.2 million calls in 2020, of which 870,732 were related to Covid-19.

Fatma AlKhajah, Director of the Customer Happiness Department at the DHA, gave a break-up of the calls:


>> 49,651 were to book appointments for a Covid-19 PCR test

>> 124,780 were to book appointments for the ‘Doctor for Every Citizen’ service, which provides free 24/7 consultation and queries regarding Covid-19 via video and voice calls.


“We have trained 270 employees and ensured that they are up-to-date with latest information, developments, and approved decisions by the authorities concerned,” said AlKhajah.

About 81,878 residents made Covid-19-related enquiries via a special WhatsApp service launched in April last year.

The DHA received 188,970 text messages; while the chat service received 272,129 messages via the DHA’s website and app.
