Coronavirus: British places of worship to reopen partly on June 15

Places of worship come under step three of the govt's road map to lift restrictions, and are not due to fully reopen until at least July 4.

British places of worship will reopen for individual prayer from June 15, after being closed to the public in March as part of the coronavirus lockdown, government minister Robert Jenrick said on Saturday.

"Thank you to all the faith leaders who are working to ensure this is done safely," said Jenrick, the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Places of worship come under step three of the Government's road map to lift restrictions, and are not due to fully reopen until at least July 4.

Individuals are expected to be able to "reflect and pray" while adhering to social-distancing rules - but worship groups, weddings and other services will still not be permitted.
