A report by the contact tracing team in Bahrain has revealed that 31 members of the same Bahraini family, including 14 children, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the Ministry of Health announced on Monday.

The Health Ministry said that the patients have contracted the virus because they did not abide by the precautionary measures recommended by the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), calling on all citizens and residents to continue their commitment to the health measures to protect their health.

The Health Ministry indicated that the laboratory tests conducted recently showed an increase in the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases resulting from contacting active cases because of ignoring health guidelines.

The Ministry called on the citizens and residents to abide by the guidelines, including limited family gatherings, wearing face masks and shields, as well as adherence to social distancing, stressing that commitment to the precautionary measures is a national duty.
