The total number of cases in the country stands at 10,839, with 2,090 recoveries.

The UAE has recorded a decline in the number of new Covid-19 cases on Monday, April 27. The number dipped below 500 cases for the first time in five days.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced 490 cases on Monday - 46 lesser than the 536 reported on Sunday. The country recorded 532, 525 and 518 cases on the three days prior to that.

This is not the first decline in cases the country has recorded. On April 22, 483 cases were announced as opposed to 490 the previous day.

Dubai had on Sunday eased the 24-hour movement restrictions in Naif and Al Ras areas after no new cases were recorded in the densely populated areas in two days. More than 6,000 tests were conducted among residents in the areas in less than a month.

The total number of cases in the country stands at 10,839, with 2,090 recoveries.

Dr Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, had previously said that an increase in the number of cases is expected as the country has ramped up testing. At over a million tests, the UAE has the third highest testing density in the world.
