Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, reviewed the global fight against Covid-19 and what both countries could do to assist in this in a telephone call with State Councillor and Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi, on Friday.
The two top diplomats also discussed the prospect of further bolstering the strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields, with emphasis on the energy domain.
Sheikh Abdullah said the China is a role model for disseminating hope in successfully fighting Covid-19, hailing the decisive counter-coronavirus arrangements taken by the Chinese leadership and the Chinese people's compliance with them as being crucial to bringing the pandemic under control in China in recent weeks.
He said he appreciated the cooperation between the UAE and China in terms of the exchange of expertise and providing necessary medical equipment to curb the spread of the virus.
"The intensified channels of cooperation between the two countries on coronavirus underline the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations," Sheikh Abdullah added.
He also praised the keenness of China to help various world countries battling the repercussions of the novel virus.
"Together we will survive these tough circumstances. The People's Republic of China sets the best example for how these trying times will pass by through collaboration and solidarity between all leaders, governments and peoples of the world. We will overcome this challenge and forge ahead with our development drive to ensure prosperity and stability for our people," he added.
