The next chartered flight to the Indian state is scheduled to take off on June 30.

Dr Dhananjay (Jay) Datar, chairman and managing director of Al Adil Trading, recently facilitated the return of more than 1,000 Indians to their home country. Dr Datar not only took care of the ticket expenses and Covid-19 testing fees, but also provided them with food kits. This move is a personal initiative by Datar to help those who were unable to meet the expenses in order to travel to their homeland.

The next chartered flight, which is bound for Maharashtra, is scheduled on June 30 to repatriate labourers. The expenses as part of this CSR initiative are fully funded by Dr Datar, complemented by support from various approved bodies to facilitate the process. He receives immeasurable support from the Indian Consulate and various associations which have helped streamline the entire process.

According to Dr Datar, there are many people who are not in a position to cover the airfare and Covid-19 testing fees. "I have come to understand that many individuals who have lost their jobs are unable to take advantage of this initiative to go to their hometown since they do not have the required money. I coordinate with approved bodies to extend a helping hand to the neediest among the needy. All necessary guidelines in connection with the repatriation process are strictly followed.

"I also request all my fellow citizens to do their bit so that together we can overcome this crisis at the earliest. I also express my deepest gratitude to all those who are involved in this repatriation process and I salute their efforts," he said.
