The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Wednesday reported 450 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 702 new recoveries.
This brings the total number of cases to 46,133 and the total recoveries to 34,405.
Two deaths had also been announced in the country as a result of the illness, bringing the total number of deaths to 307.
The number of active cases in the country is 11,421.
"The health sector has announced the third phase of clinical trials of Covid-19 vaccine. This achievement is part of comprehensive scientific research in health sector.", Dr Farida Al Hosani, Official Spokesperson for the UAE Health Sector said.
Regarding the clinical trials, they are divided into 3 stages
Stage 1: Ensuring that the vaccine is safe
Stage 2: Assessing the viability and safety of the vaccine on a small number of people
Stage 3: Impact on a larger number of people
Number of passengers in a car will remain limited to 3 (except families). If there is more than one person in a car, masks are mandatory.
In a statement, the ministry also highlighted its aim to expand the scope of testing nationwide, to facilitate the early detection of Covid-19 cases and carry out necessary treatment.
The ministry has also called upon the public to adhere to health guidelines and instructions from the relevant authorities, particularly concerning social distancing, for the sake of the health and safety of all.
On Tuesday, the health ministry announced that UAE will conduct the world's first Phase III clinical trial of a Covid-19 inactivated vaccine. Tuesday's clinical trial commencement is the start of a series of national initiatives, to not only foster the population health, but also enhance the UAE's medical research and development capabilities, including the local capacity to manufacture the vaccine.

These initiatives will be communicated on a regular basis as part of the UAE's commitment to building a prosperous knowledge based economy.
As part of its intensified testing campaign, the government of Abu Dhabi announced the comprehensive 6-week screening and testing drive held in Musaffah area in Abu Dhabi has been successfully completed. The campaign has "fully contained" the spread of Covid-19 after tests on 570,000 residents, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the schools in Dubai are now getting ready to reopen campuses this September, after getting the green light from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

While health and safety protocols will apply to all schools equally, individual schools may come up with teaching and learning models that meet the needs of their own specific communities. This comes after the Ministry of Education issued a set of guidelines for a possible reopening of schools, universities and nurseries in the next academic year.
