On Tuesday, the health ministry announced that UAE will conduct the world's first Phase III clinical trial of a Covid-19 inactivated vaccine. These initiatives will be communicated on a regular basis as part of the UAE's commitment to building a prosperous knowledge based economy.

As part of its intensified testing campaign, the government of Abu Dhabi announced the comprehensive 6-week screening and testing drive held in Musaffah area in Abu Dhabi has been successfully completed. The campaign has "fully contained" the spread of Covid-19 after tests on 570,000 residents, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the schools in Dubai are now getting ready to reopen campuses this September, after getting the green light from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

This comes after the Ministry of Education issued a set of guidelines for a possible reopening of schools, universities and nurseries in the next academic year.
