The ministry advises residents to avoid family gatherings and meetings while celebrating Eid Al Adha.
The UAE announced 283 new cases of coronavirus on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 60,506.
The ministry also reported the recovery of 283 people, bringing the total number of recoveries to 53,909.
Two new deaths were also reported.
The UAE has realised a new achievement as part of its continuous efforts and preventive and precautionary measures it put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19 and ensure the safety of the community. The country has announced the successful practical use of police dogs all over the UAE's airports as an additional way of detecting presumed Covid-19 cases. In this regard, the UAE is considered the first country in the world to put this method into action, which is still being researched and at a training stage in other countries.
Meanwhile, flights from India to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah will resume from today. The airline opened bookings for India-UAE flights on the departure leg of the repatriation flights under the Vande Bharat Mission. An online booking system for pre-flight Covid-19 tests has also been launched for all travellers flying to the UAE.
The authorities have once again urged residents to practice social distancing and avoid gatherings, especially during the Eid Al Adha holiday, which begins today. Hosting "public and private gatherings" will invite a fine of Dh10,000 for those organising such gatherings, and a fine of Dh5,000 for each of the participants attending them. Meanwhile, the Covid-19 screening centres operated by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) will remain open during the four-day break. On the day of Eid (July 31) and the next two days, the centres will operate from 10am to 6pm. The emergency departments at all its hospitals would remain open for 24 hours. Its clinics will remain closed.
