The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Saturday reported 313 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 393 recoveries. No new deaths were reported.

Today's announcement takes the total number of cases to 58,562, while recoveries stand at 51,628. The death toll rises to 343.

As many as 52,000 new Covid-19 tests have been carried out, the health ministry added.

The health authorities from the UAE have announced the commencement of conducting new clinical trials for phase III of inactivated vaccine to combat Covid-19. More than 10,000 people have registered as volunteer. Registration is still open to volunteers interested in participating in the Phase III trials of Covid-19 inactivated vaccine in Abu Dhabi through the website www.4humanity.ae.
Up to 15,000 volunteers are being sought to take part in the trial with a minimum of 5,000 participants in the first stage of the programme to ensure the robustness of the results.
It was also announced yesterday that all passengers to Dubai must have a Covid-19 negative PCR test result from the labs specified by the UAE starting August 1. This is also applicable to those taking connecting flights from Dubai.
Meanwhile, more public beaches and parks have been reopened in Abu Dhabi with stringent precautionary measures. The authorities, however,  reminded residents that they have a vital role to play in preventing the virus from spreading and that wearing a face mask in any public place is paramount.
