The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Thursday announced 479 new cases of Covid-19 infections and 1,217 cases of recovery.
Two new deaths were also reported.
As many as 45,000 new Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the country, the ministry added.
The number of active cases in the UAE has fallen below 16,000 for the first time since May 30, 2020, and is the least since May 28.
Also, today's stats have pushed the UAE's recovery rate to 61.6 per cent.
This is the lowest number of fresh cases per day reported in over a month. The last time the UAE announced new infections under 500 was on May 5, when 462 new cases were reported.
The new cases in the UAE peaked in the third week of last month, with a record 994 fresh cases reported on May 22. Today, three weeks later, the number of fresh cases is less than half of those.
The ministry wished a speedy recovery to all patients, calling on the public to abide by the precautionary measures in place and following all necessary medical advice in order to avoid more infections.
On Wednesday, the ministry said that the world is currently witnessing disparities in Covid-19 infections and recoveries. This is due to several factors, such as competence of medical staff, the degree of patient's adherence to medical and home quarantine, and the following of guidelines for prevention and social distancing.
The authorities also updated on the progress of the stem cells supportive treatment for Covid-19, which was announced by the UAE in May. It added that all tests showed that the therapy is safe and effective as an add-on to standard treatment protocols. The patients that received stem cells therapy improved faster than those who received the conventional treatment only.

The ministry called upon the public to maintain calm and patience and refrain from circulating rumours, referring to the recent statement regarding enforcement of the law for violators. It also stressed the importance of adhering to preventive measures.
