Coronavirus: UAE reports 873 new cases, 1,214 recoveries, three deaths

Dubai - An additional 38,000 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the country.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday reported 873 new cases and 1,214 new recoveries.
An additional 38,000 tests have been carried out in the country, the ministry added.
Three new deaths from the infection were also announced today.
In sweeping announcements on Monday evening, the UAE announced a revision in the timings of the national sanitisation drive, now from 8pm until 6am.

New fines for violators of Covid-19 preventive measures were also announced, including a Dh50,000 fine for those who violate home quarantine rules or the quarantine restrictions at the official health facilities (for Covid-19 suspected and confirmed cases). Here's the complete list of fines.

Repeat offenders will bear a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a minimum Dh100,000 fine.
In a heart-warming decision to reunite families that have been split by anti-Covid travel restrictions, the UAE has also announced that residents with valid visas stranded outside the country can return from June 1.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship said they will begin the process on Monday, June 1, by allowing the return of those residency holders currently stranded outside the country who have relatives in the UAE.
