Residents were urged to stay at home over this weekend.

As the UAE launched its three day disinfection drive starting Thursday evening from 8pm, aimed to combat the spread of Covid-19 in the country, the Abu Dhabi Police tweeted out a video showing how the residents were quick to adhere to the new rules that required them to stay at home and not move out unless to get essential supplies, such as food and medicine.

The tweet read: "A tour with Abu Dhabi Police demonstrating the adherence of residents to safety and security directions to combat Covid-19."

The video posted along with the tweet showed Abu Dhabi cops driving around different areas of the emirate that wore a deserted look, showing the compliance of the public that was urged to stay at home over this weekend to allow the national sterilisation programme to take effect.
