Dubai announced the closure of eateries in the emirate on Monday as the country fights the coronavirus, Covid-19, spread.
Dubai Municipality issued a statement today about preventive measures being taken to contain the virus' spread by closing down restaurants, cafe and other food services for two weeks:

The UAE has adopted a series of additional precautionary measures to fight the spread of Covid-19.

'As part of preventive measures, all restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, coffee shops and food service establishments across Dubai will be closed for two weeks starting from today Monday 23 March, 2020.
Restaurants at hotels and hotel apartments providing services for guests only, and food delivery services and transportation are exempt from the closure. They are required to strictly adhere to safety requirements.'

Residents urged to stay at home except for emergencies. They should step out only to buy groceries or medicines, authorities advised.
Residents have been told not to have more than three individuals in their cars.
The two authorities also urged everyone not to visit hospitals except for critical or emergency cases and to use face masks.
