In the wake of Covid-19, supermarkets across the country are seeing panic buying, however, retailers assure plenty of stocks to deal with any emergency. Each retail group has got contingency plans to deal with the day-to-day emerging situation
LuLu Group, which operates a chain of hypermarkets, even arranged charter cargo flights as an alternative.
"We at LuLu are fully prepared with regard to stocks of essentials and other daily groceries. Our hypermarkets as well as warehouses are well stocked and there is no need to panic. As we have our own sourcing centers across the globe, we don't forecast any scarcity concerns," said V. Nandakumar, Chief Communications Officer, LuLu Group.
"We have also made arrangements to charter exclusive cargo flights, where ever passenger flights are disrupted."
Al Maya Group, with outlets across the country, is well-prepared with all basic essentials.
"All our supermarkets have plenty of stocks. I visited few stores to take stock of the situation. We are very well prepared. We have basic essentials, groceries, FMCG products including sanitisers. There is no cause of concern. There is no shortage of any items," Kamal Vachani, Group Director, Al Maya Group, said.
"We are one of the oldest supermarkets here with more than 39 years of presence. We can deal with such situations."
Also, other retailer outlets like Carrefour, Spinneys and Abu Dhabi Coop assured full shelves to deal with high demand of customers.
