The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai announced the activation of the remote work system for Amer call centre from Thursday for a period of two weeks. The system is subject to renewal and evaluation.
Amer call centre will operate round the clock according to the working mechanism applied remotely. The move is in accordance with the decision of the Dubai Executive Council to implement 100 per cent remote working in all departments, institutions and governmental entities in Dubai starting this Sunday.
The GDRFA Dubai also revealed that the Amer call centre had received about 116,500 calls from March 23 to 25 - a daily rate of 15,000 calls per day with an efficiency rate of 81 per cent.
Major-General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, director-general of the GDRFA Dubai, said the results of the Amer call centre showed the readiness and high efficiency of its national cadres. "The GDRFA-Dubai works effectively in conjunction with various other entities to enhance and maintain the quality of life for the UAE community, in implementation of the message of UAE's wise leadership in readiness and willingness to deal with all circumstances and adapt to changes."
Major Salem bin Ali, director of the Amer Happiness Customers Department at the GDRFA Dubai, said: "The Amer call centre responds to the comments and inquiries of customers inside and outside the UAE in various languages. The centre receives approximately 120,000 calls per month."
Transactions have been made easy for customers via GDRFA-Dubai website (gdrfad.gov.ae) or through its smart app. Customers can contact Amer call centre on its toll-free number 8005111 (inside the country) or +97143139999 (outside the country) or through email (amer@dnrd.ae).
