Low-cost airline Air India Express on Friday temporarily cancelled its services from UAE to New Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode due to the impact of Covid-19.
"The only flights to operate today are to Kannur and Kochi - both Kerala sectors," Abu Dhabi office of Air India Express said.
In a bid to control the spread of coronavirus, India government had on Thursday announced that no international flights will be allowed to land in the country from March 22 (Sunday) for a week.
"We don't know the status of flights from Abu Dhabi on Saturday."
Covid-19 pandemic and continuing binding travel advisories across International Borders for airline travel, has led to curtailment of flights, including between India and UAE.
"The flight between Abu Dhabi and Thiruvananthapuram is now combined with IX-452 which will depart from Abu Dhabi on March 21 at 12:45am to Kochi. All passenger bookings for Abu Dhabi to Thiruvanathapuram have been transferred to Kochi flight," the airline said in a statement.
"Passengers opting for Thiruvananthapuram flight would need to voluntarily travel to Kochi. Many passengers have deferred plans and propose to travel later for which all assistance is being extended," it added.
