The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of UAE has announced availability of five applications to support distance learning and work from home in the country.

These applications are Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Blackboard which are compatible with all networks in the country. Microsoft Skype for Business and Google Hangouts Meet are compatible with fixed Internet networks.

The regulator said these measures have been taken in coordination with telecom services provider Etisalat and du.

The UAE has made distance learning mandatory for all the schools in the country to contain the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus in the country. Moreover, a number of public and private sector employees are working from home.

The regulator said it will periodically review the list of available applications.
