Coronavirus in UAE: Health authorities recall hand sanitizers from Abu Dhabi market 

Abu Dhabi - Healthcare professionals also should report on any complaint on pharmaceutical products with suspected quality defect.

Health authorities have recalled several hand sanitizers products from Abu Dhabi due to non-conformity to international quality standards as anti-bacterial products.
Rosa Bella, Dyna+ and Lulu hand Sanitizers with Aloe and Vitamin E are the products recalled for having less than 60 per cent alcohol content, said the Department of Health in a statement.
"As part of the DoH pharmaceutical products post marketing surveillance programme, samples of the affected products were tested at the pharmaceutical lab - CTL Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council Central Laboratories. Analysis results confirmed the non-conformity of the product's content/strength to international standards for hand sanitizer products used for anti-viral/anti-bacterial activities," DoH said.
The DoH has asked all pharmacy managers to immediately cease selling the above products and discard them. Healthcare professionals also should report on any complaint on pharmaceutical products with suspected quality defect or adverse reactions to the use of these products to authorities.
