All vehicles will be exempted from paying the toll gate fees in Abu Dhabi until the end this year, authorities have announced.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday said it has implemented Abu Dhabi Executive Council's decision that exempts all individual and company/commercial vehicles from Abu Dhabi toll gate fees until the end of 2020.

The decision is part of several initiatives launched by the Executive Council in support of Abu Dhabi's Accelerator Programme, Ghadan 21.

ITC has emphasised that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, with regards to the launch of economic stimulus package, includes exemption from road tolls fees until the end of the year which will enhance the social stability, support the private sector, improve the local business environment and positively impact the local economy, by increasing its competitiveness and enhancing investment opportunities in Abu Dhabi.
