ALL THE hype and hoopla and star glitz notwithstanding, looks like Shah Rukh Khan’s Knight Riders are on their way to an ignominious exit.

Reliable sources say that the dismal show of the team in the ongoing IPL matches has forced Shah Rukh to take the auction route to get rid of a non-performing team and to recover his whopping Rs399 crore investment.

It is learnt that the superstar is also in negotiations with Mr Moneybags — Sunil Mittal of Airtel, who may be interested in buying his team.

It may be noted that SRK is also the brand ambassador of Airtel, hence the first preference to Mittal to consider taking over his team. But Airtel staffers are keeping mum on any such change of hands in the pipeline.

Meantime, all the King Khan’s men and all the King Khan’s horses are trying to put the humpty dumpty team together again.

But with the matches hopping on to the last leg, looks difficult if the team will be able to achieve anything much.

Poor Khan may be eating his words that entertainment is all that matters (well, of course it’s entertainment for us!).

Is it a case of too much of ambition, one wonders? Better stick to things that you are best at rather than trying to be a jack of all trades...
