The 19-year-old actress also had a case filed against her at the Hyderabad police station.
The recent hubbub surrounding young Malyalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier continues as a second police case was filed against her and the director of the film Oru Adaar Love, Omar Lulu.
The Maharashtran group - in the name of Janjagran Samithi - filed a complaint at Jinsi Police station, claiming that the song "Manikya Malaraya poovi" had made some references to a prominent religious personality that was offensive to the Muslim community.
"This is a deliberate effort to hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims," stressed Mohsin Ahmed, president of Samithi.
This is on the heels of a letter written by Raza Academy to the Central Board of Film Certification, requesting the video to the song be blocked because of its offensive content.
Inspector Faheem Hashmi at the Jinsi Police station affirmed: "The religious feelings of a particular community are hurt. We will bring it to the notice of senior officers and act according to their directions."
