Singer-songwriter Glenn Perry is all set to perform for a 26-hour virtual concert to spread awareness about coronavirus and also send a message of hope, unity and solidarity. The musician will perform the marathon song session from his home in Dubai, on April 22, starting at 11 am.
Perry, the founder of Dubai Music School, hopes to deliver around 300 to 400 songs that will be streamed live. "I want to spread hope and love for the people and rejoice with them for a brighter future. I want everyone in the world to be optimistic about the health crisis, and enjoy time as a community," said Perry who will be going without food and sleep, and only sipping water throughout the concert.
"I had done a similar benefit singing marathon for 25 hours, some years ago. My fingers were bleeding due to playing the guitar continuosuly over so many hours. My vocal cords were 'fried' as well. My throat felt like a (burning) volcano. Nevertheless, I completed the 25 hours, but I had decided never to do it again. However, this pandemic made me change my mind, I am doing this to raise hope and courage and bring issues to light about the disease. Raising awareness is very significant as it educates individuals and can help save lives."
"Stay at home, wash your hands regularly with soap and water, practise social distancing, cease all social activities and make your immune system strong. This is not an easy time for us, but it is the best remedy to contain coronavirus,"  Perry advised.
Perry has also released a song recently to raise awareness about the virus titled, Live Like A Man.
