Rhea Chakraborty was said to be planning on tying the knot with the late actor by the end of 2020

Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty went to the Bandra police station in Mumbai on Thursday to record her statement in connection with the suicide of her friend and fellow actor Sushant Singh Rajput, an official said. Chakraborty was called to the police station by the investigating officer in the case.

She reached the police station around 11.30 am, the official said. According to reports the actress was seen leaving the premises later in the evening, after what is reported to be an estimated 9-hour long interrogation.

Chakraborty, who was in a long-term relationship with the late actor, allegedly confirmed stories doing the rounds that the duo were looking for a property since they were planning to tie the knot by the end of 2020.

According to a report in TOI, the actress allegedly admitted that she was living with the late actor during the lockdown and only left his house after the duo had a fight. She reportedly informed the police about the details of the fight but showed them that they were in touch via phone and text message after it. Rhea was apparently the last person Sushant called on Saturday night before he went to sleep.

On Wednesday, police had recorded the statement of Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who was also close to Rajput.

The police were trying to understand reasons behind Rajputs depression.

So far, the police have recorded statements of more than 10 people, including Rajputs family members.

"Its a pattern in all cases," a source said.

Police may also call people from some production houses for an enquiry, the source added.

Rajput allegedly committed suicide at his apartment in suburban Bandra on June 14.

His father K K Singh told the police that he and other family members didnt know the reason behind Rajputs depression.

Earlier, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said the Mumbai Police will also probe the angle of "professional rivalry" which was alleged to be the cause of the suicide.
