'Padmavati' release delayed, but why is Deepika still coming to Dubai?

The Padmavati actress is scheduled to visit UAE to attend the 17th Asiavision Awards Night on November 24

We've been getting conflicting reports regarding Padmavai star Deepika Padukone's scheduled visit to the UAE this weekend to attend the 17th Asiavision Awards Night this Friday, November 24. 
While the CEO of Bhansali Products Shobha Sant confirmed to City Times that the film's team will not be flying down to the UAE this weekend as earlier scheduled, Asiavision organisers were a bit more wary of confirming the same. When we caught up with Nissar Syed, the Managing Director of Asiavision, today, he confirmed that as per his last communication with the Mumbai team, Deepika Padukone was indeed scheduled to fly down for the event.
"The whole Padmavati integration has been taken off from the Awards night following the worldwide postponement of the films's release," he told City Times over the phone.
He explained that the team was still trying to figure out the logistics since they had all the scheduled flight details of the film's cast in place. Deepika is set to receive the Global Icon of India trophy at the star-studded gala, he added, while remaining tight lipped about the presence of Bhansali, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh at the same event as earlier planned. Asha Sarath and her team of dancers will now pay a tribute to the actress and not the film Padmavati as earlier reported. 
Padmavati was slated for worldwide release on December 1, but following a barrage of protests from various Rajput organisations, the initial dates have been deferred. In the wake of threats against her and director Bhansali, the actress has pulled out of a scheduled appearance at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) that will have US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance on November 28.
