The grassroots initiative, led by Dubai Sports Council, is called ‘Shuttle Time Dubai’ and allows people of any age, ability and fitness level to play badminton as a fun and social way of being more active.
The emirate’s largest indoor summer sports venue has six full-size badminton courts open daily for a minimum of 14 hours between June 12 and August 30.
Situated in the Dubai World Trade Centre, the location also offers eight five- or seven-a-side football and rugby pitches, a volleyball court, three basketball courts, a tennis court, a cricket pitch, a skate-boarding and BMX park, a state-of-the-art gym, a 600-metre running track, a climbing wall, plus the free-to-enter Entertainment Zone with 12 table tennis tables, four pool tables and two foosball tables.
