Our Friend. The film You, Me and Dupree (2006) could have been! Joke. Our Friend sees Jason Segel return to form as the loveable best friend who arrives just in time to make everything a little funnier. Amigo to couple Casey Affleck and Dakota Johnson, when Johnson is diagnosed with cancer Segel decides to move in to help with the kids and generally be a warming presence in a cold, dark time. As Johnson navigates the depths of treatment, it becomes apparent Afleck needs equal support in order to be the rock his wife requires. The three of them make it work. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 84%

The Little Things. This movie stars Denzel Washington and Rami Malek, so if you want a class act, look no further. A thrillingly coppy cop thriller, Washington plays Deke, a small town Deputy Sheriff who is required to head to Los Angeles on a fact-finding mission. While there Deke meets Jim (Malek), a hardened city detective on the trail of a crazed killer terrorising the town. Impressed by Deke’s natural policing instincts, Jim asks his new friend to join the case. Sadly the hunt begins to dredge up memories from Deke’s harrowing past. Will the duo be able to stay the course and catch their target? Are they looking for the right person, or is the murderer closer to home? There are so far no ratings.

Line of Descent. Directed by Rohit Karn Batra, Line of Descent brings together an international ensemble star cast including Brendan Fraser alongside Prem Chopra, Abhay Deol, Ronit Roy and Anisha Victor. The plot explores a dysfunctional mafia family in Delhi, as three brothers fight for control of their father’s legacy all while employing an international arms dealer to do their bidding and trying to avoid an undercover cop. IMDb gives it 4.8

Wrong Turn

What film would you least like to see if you happen to be a keen hiker? Cliffhanger (1993)? 127 Hours (2010)? We think this one is soon to be on your list. Wrong Turn follows a group of trekkers along the Appalachian Trail. When they stray off course a hidden community of mountain dwellers make sure they know they are really not welcome. Who will survive? There are so far no ratings.
