Arts for wellbeing

Can art be therapeutic? That’s what Louvre Abu Dhabi is investigating in its Arts for Health and Wellbeing webina led by the museum’s education department. Bringing together leading figures in museum-based health and wellbeing programmes, the experts will explore best practices, compare approaches in therapy and therapeutic practices seen in different regions from around the world, as well as discuss the societal stigma around healing modalities. Expect informed opinions from big industry names including May Chung Khuen, Helen Jury and Dana Al Mazrouei. It’s on tonight at 7pm GST via louvreabudhabi.ae/en/Whats-Online/webinar

Augmented reality art

A one-of-a-kind art installation will bring to life colour through a live, animated art display, by two Dubai-based artists this weekend. Ariel Middle East is hosting PodArt, an interactive event that combines augmented reality and abstract art installations until October 24 at The Beach JBR and City Walk in Dubai. Artists Paul Bruwer and Dreams of Grandeur have come together to create life size pieces of art that reflect what colours mean to each of them. Scan the pieces’ QR codes to experience the vivid AR. It’s on from 1pm to 11pm each day and you can win prizes.
