Indie film night
At the age of 85, US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed a lengthy legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon. But the unique personal journey of her rise to the nation's highest court has been largely unknown, even to some of her biggest fans - until now. Documentary RBG explores Ginsburg's life and career and is on at Cinema Akil on Friday at 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
Lucente shine bright at Meet&Greet
Fans were treated to a mini meet and greet session with rookie K-Pop group Lucente at Roxy Cinemas, City Walk on Wednesday (January 2). The seven-member group - U.Seong, Z.Hoo, Kogun, Bao, Parkha, Taejun and Hero - marked their first visit to the UAE, and is the first Korean artist to touch base in 2019, as part of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).
The group is on a steady rise in the Hallyu scene with their title track "Your Difference", and will open the show for "Bboom Bboom" stars Momoland this Friday (January 4) at the Dubai Duty Free Stadium.

Doors open at 6pm and tickets start from Dh200.

Reality programme, Ishouha Jarbouha, offers reality TV-like packed adventures along with fun experiences with star, Ghada. Ghada is a young lady that likes to travel and says heading to Dubai is like going to a neighbour's house. Follow the Saudi woman as she navigates the Dubai Shopping Festival. Run, people, run
Don't wimp out on your resolutions, go conquer them! Why not run the fourth edition of the Cigna Park Run to mark the beginning of the New Year. Offering the choice of a 2.5 km and 5 km course, all ages and fitness abilities can join in. It's taking place on January 5 at Al Ittihad Park on the Palm Jumeirah. Go Climb
Take time out between your shopping and schedule a high-adrenalin activity. The flagship GO Sport megastore in Mall of the Emirates boasts a 10-metre volcano-shaped climbing wall (not pictured) that will test your strength and coordination. The store also has a virtual reality cycling simulation to test your bikes in fun outdoor scenarios before making a purchase.
Loca food
Mexican restaurant Loca in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi has a new Saturday Fajita Fiesta, because what's better than good food and football together? Keep up with all the sports action from one of the many screens, whilst getting your guac game on. The new Fajita Fiesta includes the choice of any fajita from the a la carte menu and two house beverages for Dhs109 per person.  Muy bien!
Poster exhibition
Get cultural and learn something as a poster exhibition on the relevance of Bhagavad-Gita to the modern world, combined with the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi on the scripture, will be conducted at the Consulate General of India, Dubai, on Friday and Saturday between 4pm and 9pm on both days. The exhibition will also show-case a variety of hand-crafted Khadi products. It is being organised as part of the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi.
On The Beach
It's JBR, Dubai, so you know it's going to be good. Take part in the 'March Your Way to The Beach' event featuring super drummers and Dabkeh dancers. Each weekend, other roaming performances such as 'White World' will a carnival-like atmosphere that compliments the season and means you can wander about having fun.
Creek Laughs
The Al Seef Heritage Souq is replete with carnival rides, traditional Emirati games, live music by Jalassat Khalijia and Emirati Souqs. Children will have the opportunity to meet and greet Aladdin as part of the many roaming acts. Enjoy your Arabian Night!
