Looking for something to do? Here's our guide to spend your off days.

How to make the most of your Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Khaleej Times recommends...

Park life

The Park Street Band mirrors what was once said about Kolkata, it is not just a city (or musical group in this case), it is an emotion; an emotion that brings together people in the UAE with a single common thread - the love for music from the West Bengal capital. The band also organises a billboard show every so often called The Park Street Brunch and it is on this Friday! The Park Street Brunch is an all-day celebration of all things Bengali, where PSB takes to the stage and does a marathon gig and there's customised food and recipes that have stood the test of time. Budding Bengali musical talents are also encouraged to contribute. The Park Street Brunch is on from 1.30pm at Club Everest, Astoria Hotel, Bur Dubai.

Play time

We all know the story of how Gandhi's belief  in truth and non-violence, reflecting the 'power of self' led to him becoming a Mahatma. The musical-dance-drama, The Mahatma, brings you the underpinnings of the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, derived from the Knowledge of the Self. The show will be on at The Habitat School, Ajman, at 6.30pm on Saturday.

Concert craze

Bollywood Parks is hosting Indian musical duo Salim-Sulaiman on Friday in front of Rajmahal Theatre. Salim-Sulaiman are among India's most respected composers and have produced award-winning music in hit films such as Fashion and more. Fight night

The gloves are off! Dubai's FIVE Palm Jumeirah presents Knockout Night at FIVE on Friday. The star-studded event will bring together 28 martial arts specialists for 14 bouts of fights and a celebrity audience including YouTube sensation KSI and British professional boxer Amir Iqbal Khan. 7pm at the Vista Ballroom.

50 years strong

The QE2 celebrates 50 years since its maiden voyage this weekend and is putting on a bit of a do. From elegant gala dinners in the Queens Grill, to Queen tribute acts at Theatre by QE2, have a great time onboard. Tonight from 7pm at the Queen's Grill enjoy a five-course, grape-paired menu for Dh850.

A poet's life

Go see Mirza Ghalib's Dil Hi To Hai. An on-stage theatrical representation based on the life and works of the renowned Indian poet Mirza Ghalib, the show will feature live Ghazals and fusion kathak infused into the theatre. It's on Friday at Emirates International School Auditorium from 6pm. There is a traditional dress code and the play is strictly for over-tens.

Batman Day

Lock, Stock & Barrel JBR is putting on the ultimate Batman takeover brunch 'The Big Bat Brunch' on Friday followed by 'The Dark Knight Rises' afterparty. With unlimited rounds of grub, accompanied with free-flowing house beverages, LSB also has games to keep you going. The best Batman themed fancy dress wins Dhs2,500 at the brunch, or Dhs5000 at the after party from 8pm.

Cinco de Mayo

There are many Latin American celebrations this weekend, but we like the look of this. Skip the cost of a flight to Mexico, COYA Dubai and Abu Dhabi are throwing a fiesta of floating tacos, dancing, and everything in between for Cinco de Mayo! Joining the world-wide festivities, the hotspots will be filled with authentic Mexican treats and the sound of live Mexican music on Saturday, May 4 from 7pm onwards.
