Gary Oldman starrer 'Mank' leads Oscar nominations

Los Angeles - Riz Ahmed, Viola Davis, Chloe Zhao, Sacha Baron Cohen among the nominees for the awards that will be handed out on April 25.

Nominations got underway on Monday for the 93rd Academy Awards. Director David Fincher's "Mank," a biographical drama about Hollywood screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz topped the nominations with 10 nods. Six films tied for second place with six nods each: "The Father," "Judas and the Black Messiah," "Minari," "Nomadland," "Sound of Metal" and "The Trial of the Chicago 7"

The ceremony - the climax of an awards season like no other thanks to coronavirus pandemic restrictions - will be held on April 25.
