Fans of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput have increasingly been demanding a CBI enquiry into the death of the actor. These requests came to the notice of former cabinet minister and BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, who appointed a lawyer, Ishkaran Bhandari, to look into details of the case and even wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate a probe.
However, no government authority has agreed to a CBI enquiry yet, and Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh stated that state police were capable of handling the case.
Ishkaran has now called for a 'peaceful protest' on Wednesday to demand justice for Sushant. He wrote on Twitter Tuesday, "It was decided by today during my Youtube Live that Tomorrow all those who want Justice for Sushant Singh Rajput will do peaceful protest & light candle, at 8 pm. #Candle4SSR - this hashtag (people decided) for tomorrow. Tag me with pics at 8 pm on 22July. So I can Retweet!"
Sushant passed away on June 14 in Mumbai and the investigation into his death is ongoing.
