It was difficult to watch the Dil Bechara trailer and not feel distraught. After all, it hasn't even been a month since lead star Sushant Singh Rajput passed away. We are still reeling from the shock of the loss of the 34-year-old star, whose fanbase only seems to be growing since his untimely death on June 14.
What makes watching the trailer all the more poignant is the fact that Sushant's last film is a remake of the beautiful yet heartbreaking Hollywood film, The Fault In Our Stars, whose storyline revolves around two people suffering from a terminal illness who happen to meet and fall in love.
Despite our grief we need to take a moment to appreciate Sushant's charm, talent and comic timing in this trailer. As goofy and fun-loving Manny, he is the perfect foil to the more serious Kizie (an impressive Sanjana Sanghi) - (it's so funny when he calls her 'kissy'!).
"We can't decide when we are born or when we die but we can decide how to live," says Manny in the trailer. A mantra Sushant surely followed in his short time here on earth.
How do we bid goodbye to this exceptionally talented star? By watching and appreciating his last film, even through tears.
Will we love Dil Bechara as much as we did The Fault In Our Stars? Probably more.
