Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has reportedly reached out to the families of 400 migrants who passed away or were injured while travelling to their home towns during the lockdowns imposed in India.
According to a report in Indian Express, as part of his #GharBhejo initiative with Neeti Goel, Sonu has collected bank details of some migrants from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
"I've decided to help families of the deceased or injured migrants for them to have a secure future. I feel it's my personal responsibility to support them," Sonu said in a statement.
Over the last few months, Sonu has helped thousands of migrant workers reach their home states amidst the coronavirus pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns in India.
