Legendary Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan, who passed away in Mumbai Friday, is credited with creating some of the most iconic dance numbers in Hindi films.
Her choreography blended folk, classical and modern dance movements, and fans will remember her for her dance steps in songs pictured on Bollywood divas Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and many others.
Here's a list of some of the late dance maestro's most unforgettable dance numbers:
Ek Do Teen, from Tezaab
This was a career defining dance moment for the late choreographer. The peppy number saw Madhuri Dixit in some memorable dance moves and made the star and the choreographer pair a household name. Till date, you will see fans dancing to the song.
Choli Ke Peeche, from Khalnayak
This was one of Saroj Khan's most iconic number with Madhuri Dixit. The actress elevated the song to an unforgettable number with her steps and it also became the talk of the town because of its catchy, though controversial lyrics. Both Madhuri and Neena Gupta's steps in this 1993 blockbuster are unforgettable.
Humko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar, from Sailaab
The late dance director again created magic with her movements in this song making it a number to remember for fans. The song again brought together the winning team of Mahduri and Khan and the 1990 track went on to win a Filmfare award for the best-choreographed song.
Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, from Beta
Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit's dance steps in this 1992 movie went on to become a huge hit. The song was famous for its signature moves.
Dola Re Dola, from Devdas
This song was pictured on Madhuri and Aishwarya. Both the actresses looked resplendent in their designer sarees and sparkling jewellery in this number.
Nimbooda Nimbooda, from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's moves in this song are memorable. Apart from her dance steps, it's her facial expressions that lend an extra edge to the choreography in this number.
Hawa Hawai, from Mr. India
Fans will always remember the late Sridevi, and now dance maestro Saroj Khan, in this song. Both Hawa Hawai directed by Shekhar Kapur and starring Anil Kapoor, had some amazing dance moves created and executed by the late icons.
Tamma Tamma, from Thanedaar
This 90s song makes the best use of modern beats, set by music director Bappi Lahiri, to give it a fresh and youthful feel. Dressed in a skin-tight leather dress, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt set the stage of fire with their techno-beat assisted dance moves.
Tabaah Ho Gaye, from Kalank
This dance number, picturised on Madhuri Dixit from the 2019 movie, was the last one to have a dance number choreographed by Saroj Khan. The track was one of the main highlights of this movie that also featured Alia Bhatt.
