Irrfan Khan and Parvathy, who makes her Bollywood debut with this film, are two clashing characters who meet each other on a dating website. Desperate for love and emotion, Jaya and Yogi set out on a journey to rekindle love in their lives and end up falling in love with each other, which is evident to viewers right at the start of the movie.

Jaya is a widow and single, while Yogi is single with three electrifying love affairs in the past to his credit.

After a meeting or two, Yogi offers Jaya to travel with him to meet his ex-girlfriend and Jaya in turn offers to meet her friend in Sikkim. So, the two embark to reminisce forgotten love and travel through scenic Rishikesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Gangtok.

Screenplay

The screenplay is very slow, dragging on and has nothing interesting to watch out for. There is not a single moment in the movie which gets your eyes on stalks.

Dialogues

Out of place is the word for dialogues. Some lines are smutty and vulgar, chucking out the film as a family entertainer. Besides, the film fails to deliver any statement dialogue which can linger on the audience's minds.

Music and action

Music and action can either sail a movie to box-office profits or simply drown it. But, Qarib Qarib Singlle has neither of them. The movie will be boring for those who love romantic scores or spine-chilling action.

Editing

Watching Irrfan and Parvathy for 2.05 hours with poor screenplay, zero music and action seems to be too much to bear. The movie should have been at least 15 minutes shorter.

Direction

Tanuja Chandra, who directed the film after a long time, fails to create the magic on the silver screen. Her direction is really poor.

Acting

Irrfan Khan fails to impress his fans and instead leaves them thinking 'why did he have to do this film'? The 54-year-old actor seems more of an oddball, trying hard to play the colourful character of a lover boy and fools around to make the girl giggle! While Parvathy though struggles to sizzle onscreen, she has done justice to her role by delivering engaging acting.

Film verdict

The film is a poor package of slow screenplay, no entertainment, no engaging music and boring acting. The film is a waste of time, money and energy. Avoid it if you can.
