Baaghi 2, a sequel of Baaghi released in 2016, has created quite a buzz for its direction, action, songs and of course the chemistry between Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. Both the actors look gleefully attractive in the trailers, raising the bar a notch for the movie to live up to the expectations of the audience.
Disha and Tiger are immensely in love until Disha's family marries her off to someone else and Tiger vanishes from her life forever. Disha has a lovely daughter while Tiger joins the armed forces to vent the rebellion born out of his failed love story.
Now Disha, who lives with her family in Goa, is distraught after her daughter is kidnapped by drug mafias. With no one else capable of rescuing her daughter, Disha seeks Tiger's help who comes to Goa from Kashmir, where he is posted. And, Tiger does everything possible to get Disha's daughter back from the kidnappers.
The movie has an element of suspense which is only revealed towards the end of the film. However, that's the weak spot, as the suspense is easily guessed by many in the audience!
Screenplay
The screenplay of Baaghi 2 is exceptionally good which will hold the interest of the public till the end.
Dialogues
The dialogues of every character in the movie are interesting and crisp.
Music
Music is also good but not blockbuster material. The remake of the hit Ek Do Teen song which starred Madhuri Dixit, has been shot wonderfully. Though the remade version with Jacqueline Fernandes does not look appealing on YouTube but the entire song in the movie is quite eye-catching. And, Jacqueline has exhibited amazing dance skills in the song.
Action
The action which is the highlight of the film, gives an adrenaline rush. But, the action sequences towards the end of the film in the last 30 minutes are a little too much and too lengthy.
Editing
The editing of the film is very good except those not-so-required action scenes in the end.
Acting
Tiger's acting reveals the hard-work he has put in the film to prepare for his role. Both Disha and Tiger have portrayed their roles with ease and moreover, their on-screen chemistry is like an icing on the cake!
The minus point for Tiger would be his dialogue delivery in some scenes. Like in Sunny Deol's Ghayal, the energy and enigma that Sunny delivered on screen in the scene where he is in jail and abuses policemen, Tiger seems to trail quite behind in terms of vigour.
From the trailers, it seemed that Disha had done a few action stunts, but that is negligible in the entire movie. Nonetheless, Disha has portrayed the role of a girlfriend and wife brilliantly. Besides, she looks beautiful on screen. Randeep Hooda, Deepak and Manoj Bajpai have limited roles in the movie and this has kept their charm alive. Their presence in the film is just apt. Not too much, not too less!
But, Raj Babbar's son Prateik Babbar, who has a small role in the movie, does not live up to his tiny role.
Direction
Director Ahmed Khan is almost three to four films old now. And this is visible in Baaghi 2. The finesse, flow, and flawlessness in the movie are proof of good direction. Baaghi 2 is the best movie to date that Ahmed Khan has directed. Just minus the 30-odd minutes of action where Tiger lands in a jungle from nowhere to fight Manoj Bajpayee. It seems the director was under some pressure to fit in the 30 minutes of action thrills to match up to the Baaghi action, else this movie could have gone to become Ghayal 2 and joined the 100-crore club.
Verdict
Baaghi 2 makes for a good film to watch with the family. Also, people who are die-hard action fans or are in love with Tiger-Disha, definitely can't miss this film!
