'Simmba' is a story about Sangram Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh) who has been in awe of Inspector Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn) since he was a child. Sangram grows up to join the police force just like Singham, but he's corrupt and his sole intention is to make money.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, 'Simmba' seems to be inspired by the Nirbhaya rape case and it shows Bhalerao having a change of heart after a girl, who he considers his sister, meets the same fate as Nirbhaya.

Screenplay

The screenplay is not bad but it's long. 'Simmba' could have easily been wrapped up in two hours, but the movie has been stretched to 2 hours 40 minutes.

Dialogues

The dialogues are very catchy and will stay in your memory even after leaving the theatre. However, one downside is that there are too many dialogues in Marathi which makes it difficult for the Hindi speaking audience to understand.

Music

Music is also good. The song 'Aankh Mare' is already a hit and it's the best number in the movie.

Action

Like any other Rohit Shetty film, the action is great - simply awesome.

Acting

Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan have done a very good job. Ranveer's portrayal of the energetic yet corrupt cop will keep the audience glued to their seats. Sara too has done a brilliant job and looks beautiful on screen. Ajay Devgn's cameo in the second half livens up the movie more. If this was not enough, there is also a scene where Akshay Kumar appears on screen.

Verdict

'Simmba' is a family entertainer with no objectionable scenes or instances. Moreover, it is possible that 'Simmba' will attract more women moviegoers if it strikes a chord as a family-oriented movie. It can go on to become a hit as well.
