What follows is a brainless comedy that leaves the audience guffawing!

As the name suggests, Pagalpanti is sheer madness on screen, and it will have you laughing to bits. Although its plot appears to be similar to the comedy Welcome Back, Pagalpanti manages to grab the limelight with its performances, locations, direction and comic timing.

The film starts with a blast at a firecracker shop in London run by a trio - Raj Kishore (John Abraham), Chandu (Pulkit Samrat) and Junky (Arshad Warsi). John is the unlucky guy in the film whose spell of bad luck gets him into troublesome situations and he also pulls in people associated with him into that. His bad luck even cost him his bank job back in Mumbai as on his first day at work, a conman Niraj Modi (played by Inaamulhaq), defaults and runs away to London with a massive amount of money. Raj Kishore then follows the conman to London. Add to this plot two gangsters Raja Sahab (Saurabh Shukla) and WiFi (Anil Kapoor) who lock horns with rival gangsters because both have been loaned money by Niraj Modi.

If that was not enough to have a hearty laugh, the film turns even more hilarious as one of the trio falls for a girl from the gangster family. What follows is a brainless comedy that leaves the audience guffawing!

Screenplay

In spite of scoring good on the comedy metre, Pagalpanti's screenplay could have been better. Albeit, it lives up to its nonsensical comedy portrayal.

Editing

It's like how a brainless comedy should be edited. But if it was tighter, the film could have probably been better.

Dialogues

Dialogues are very good and hilarious. They are clean, no double-meaning lines, but they are good enough to make the audience laugh.

Music

Music is good. However, it is not like Anees Bazmee's other movies such as Welcome, Singh is Kinng and No Entry. The background music is too loud and gets uncomfortable at times.

Locations

About 80 per cent of the movie is shot in London, so the locations are scenic and very colourful.

Acting

John, Pulkit and Arshad are extremely entertaining and hilarious. The actresses too have done a good job. As always, Anil Kapoor never fails to make a mark with his comic performance and charisma.

Direction

Anees Bazmee's direction is good and on par with his earlier comedy flicks. He has also inserted a hilarious warning in the film's trailer: 'Don't apply your brains here, as these guys have none'. This film has to be watched keeping your brains aside!

Verdict

The film is a pure no-brainer which tickles the funny bone with ease and can be watched with the entire family. It can be summed up as a complete family entertainer high on the laughter metre!
